Pakistan loses ODI series to West Indies after three decades: ‘It was surrender

West Indies defeated Pakistan by 202 runs in the third and final ODI at Taraba to clinch the series 2-1. This is the first time in more than 30 years that the West Indies have won an ODI series against Pakistan.

Pakistani captain Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and invited West Indies to bat first, to which the host team scored 294 runs for the loss of six wickets in 50 overs.

West Indies captain Shai Hope played an unbeaten knock of 120 runs off just 94 balls, which included five sixes and 10 fours. While Justin Graves, who came in to bat at number eight, scored 43 runs off 24 balls. Both these batsmen helped the team set a good target on the scoreboard towards the end of the innings.

Fast bowler Naseem Shah took two wickets in the match but they proved to be costly. He gave away 72 runs in 10 overs. Spinner Abrar Ahmed took two wickets for 34 runs but was bowled for only nine overs. Spinners Muhammad Nawaz and Saim Ayub took one wicket each.
